Ravishing beauty Kajal Aggarwal has created a new record by emerging as the highest paid actress amongst the recent crop of leading ladies in south India.
Going by the latest buzz, director-turned-producer Lingusamy has signed the actress for Rs 2 crore excluding her team and travel fares for a film that has Kamal Haasan in the lead.
Hitherto Goan beauty Ileana D'cruz held the record for highly paid actress after signing for an impressive Rs 1.5 crore for Shankar's directorial Snehithudu co-starring Vijay.
Initially, Kajal was offered Rs 1 crore for the film, but she didn't accept the proposal citing the reason that she didn't want to act with senior heroes.
After repeated attempts by the producer, Kajal gave her go ahead to act in the project for Rs 2 crore.
Although Kajal was not the first choice for the film, it was only due to the unavailability of seductress Anushka who is pre-occupied with films like Baahubali and Rudramadevi, the Magadheera actress got the golden opportunity to share the screen space with Kamal Haasan. Though Kajal created a record of sorts now, it remains to be seen who's going to pay her Rs 2 crore later?
